I am sure you are asking what stress has to do with your weight loss.
Well, the simple answer is it shuts down your weight loss.
In this study the dieters who limited their calories saw their levels of cortisol, a stress hormone, increase. This hormone is linked to weight gain and when elevated can actually cause you to gain weight.
I know you have heard it from me before and you will keep hearing it from me, especially since research is continuing to show that counting calories is a bad idea, that it sets you up for failure.
Instead you need to focus on making proper food choices and quantities along with a good exercise program.
