There are numerous tips on healthy eating and healthy weight loss diets. Most of them mention the intake of fruit and vegetables. The problem is that the lack of intake of fruit and vegetables is a worldwide problem.
A new study looked at 200,000 people in developing countries and compared their fruit and vegetable intake. The results were alarming!
We know the powerful benefits of consuming fruit and vegetables. Adequate consumption decreases the risk for chronic diseases and low fruit and vegetable intake is a risk factor for overweight and obesity.
Yet astonishingly 77.6% of men and 78.4% of women in this study consumed less than the suggest 5 daily servings of produce.
This problem isn’t just in developing countries, but in developed countries as well. Studies conducted in Europe and the United States have also seen similar results.
Your nutritional foundation needs to include numerous healthy eating guidelines. A healthy weight loss diet isn’t healthy unless you are consuming a minimum of 5 fruits or vegetables a day. Preferably for successful weight loss your total servings should be around 8-10 of fruits and vegetables a day.
The secret to this is if you break this into a serving of fruit or vegetable per meal. It is easy and simple to consume the recomended 8-10 servings if approached this way.
If you are serious about your weight loss then incorporate this healthy eating guideline into your nutritional foundation and you will exeperience two wonderful phenomenal changes.
1. You will be eating the recommended fruits and vegetables and not loading up on other simple carbohydrates and fillers.
2. You will be losing weight because of all the fiber you will be consuming and decrease in calorie consumption.
