Which foods do you think of as the most popular breakfast foods?
Cereal, pancakes, eggs, muffins, breakfast bars, oatmeal.
Only a couple of those options could be considered diet food, and that’s only if they are eaten in specific ways. And who wants to have the exact same healthy eating plan every single morning?
The sad truth is that we have thrown everything we know about how to eat healthy out the window when it comes to breakfast. We want fast, portable, feel-good foods, and we don’t care if they don’t fit in with the rest of the day’s healthy eating. After all, eating right for lunch and dinner should make up for it, right? If you are a busy person … aren’t we all? … and trying to really take the concepts of healthy diets to heart, there is one big thing you need to be aware of. Convenience foods. These are the foods that come packaged with some of the preparation steps already done for you, and they are not healthy eating shortcuts like you might want to believe.
Some convenience foods do contain wholesome ingredients. After all, a bag of frozen seasoned vegetables contains a staple diet food, right? Of course vegetables need to be in your diet, but their good nutrition can be overshadowed by all the ingredients and artificial additives that are thrown in.

In the food business, companies save money by buying the cheapest products and make money by getting all of their products out there in the cheapest way possible. So distributors and buyers constantly make deals with each other and don’t always keep the health of the consumer in mind.
The consumer, who shops at a grocery store or eats at a restaurant, loses out on the deal because their food is unhealthy and potentially dangerous, all because the people who handle the food wanted to make money.
We already know that there are a lot of factors in our society that work against healthy eating plans. And now we find out that even if we know how to eat healthy and make good choices at the grocery store or while eating out, the food might not be as safe as we thought.
