Hot dogs: A healthy weight loss food

hot_dogWe eat 633 hot dogs per second and that is a conservative estimate.  American’s eat about 20 billion hot dogs every year.

 

This doesn’t include sales from sporting events, street vendors or Wal-Mart as these locations do not disclose sales data.

 

Guesstimates for ballpark hot dog consumption is around 30 million hot dogs during a regular pro season.

 

So how does this relate to a healthy weight loss food?

Healthy diet plans use healthy eating guidelines for quick weight lossI have already talked to you about insulin resistance and how it can lead to further weight gain, but some research has shown that it may cause muscle wasting also.  This is not good for those following healthy eating guidelines. 

That means it is harder for you to lose weight and get healthy even if you are lifting weights.

The reason for this is because your body increases it’s use of myostatin which causes muscle wasting and prevents muscle growth.

The Biggest Loser that I am most proud of

We all know there is the “Biggest Loser” Tv show.  Contestants achieve remarkable weight loss in only 12 weeks.  It is very impressive, but for some it is unrealistic because these contestants don’t have to maintain a full time job, feed kids dinner, take them to soccer practice.  They also get to exercise as much as 6 hours a day.

So of course achieving weight loss like that is impressive, but sometimes hard for you to relate since you are unable to give up all the necessities you have to do every day to pay bills, take care of your family, etc.

Well, I personally have a “Biggest Loser” that I am very proud of because of what he has achieved in only 4 months.
