The Two Major Components of Healthy Diets

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

Some people love healthy eating.  They devote all their time and energy on learning how to eat healthy, discovering new diet food, and making healthy meals.  They are committed to eating right in order to achieve healthy weight loss.  They might even run out of time to follow through with an exercise plan.

Other people love working out.  They spend time at the gym, working with personal trainers, and researching information about body composition and muscles.  They work their way towards healthy weight loss by doing physical activity.  Exercise is such a big part of their lives that they don’t always worry about eating healthy diet food, and in fact, they might be more tempted to follow fad diets.

Eating Right By Making Small Changes

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

Making the switch to healthy diets doesn’t mean you have to throw out everything in your kitchen or pantry that has a gram of fat or added sugar.  You can make some big changes that get you closer to healthy eating plans just by doing some small things.

For instance, forget the bun or bread when you’re eating something that is considered a sandwich or burger.  Chicken salad still tastes like chicken salad when eaten out of a bowl or on top of a salad.

During those times that you just have to have dessert or indulge in your favorite fresh-baked brownie, make sure you have a friend around so that you can split it, instantly cutting your serving in half.

Speaking of indulgences, think of all the extras you add onto foods that are already packed with calories and sugar.  (more…)

We all have different experiences and are a part of different environments, so we would probably come to different conclusions about which sex is better at healthy diets.

The facts from the CDC are as follows.  (more…)
