Healthy Weight Loss Tips: Do they help?

solutions-imageI provide healthy weight loss tips quite frequently and I also created a free web TV show all about healthy eating guidelines and healthy weight loss tips.

Is anyone watching though?

If you are watching are you taking action with any of the weight loss tips.

Some alarming numbers were just released and the numbers show

  • 9.1% of all medical spending is for obesity related care.
  • Diabetes costs the nation 190 billion a year to treat and excessive weight is the number 1 cause for diabetes
  • Overall obesity related health spending reaches 147 billion a year.  Double what it was nearly a decade ago.

So my question is this:  Is anyone actually using the information myself and other health experts teach and provide or is it going in one ear and right out the other ear.

Should we get into another profession where individuals care about something even if it isn’t their health.

Assume your monitor that you are reading this on is your mirror.  This is a reality check.

Are you doing everything you could be doing to lose weight and live a healthier life?

Ask yourself that question.

If the answer is no then what is it that you could improve upon.

Write down your answers to these questions in the comment box below.

This does mean you.

This is a reality check and you need to tell yourself the truth.

Are you doing enough to live a healthier life?

I expect no less then a few hundred comments below.

If you are serious about improving your health and losing weight you will leave your answers to the questions below in the comment box below.

I know you can do it or else I wouldn’t be providing healthy weight loss tips and healthy eating guidelines on this blog and on Fighting Fat For America

Yours in health,

PS:  Here is what can happen when you take action with your weight loss.  This was just left on the Fighting Fat For America blog a few hours ago.

"Jayson,

I’ve really been enjoying your videos and think it is about time I let you know that. :)

Also wanted to let you know that since I started your Carb Rotation plan and dropped 34 pounds, I have been taken off ALL of my diabetic meds! Because of physical problems the past several months I have not been able to work out or even walk on my treadmill so all of the weight loss is from the eating program only. My doctor is ecstatic as am I! Am having this massive hernia fixed in 2 weeks and then I will be back walking and working out. The weight loss should really pick up after that. Can’t thank you enough for such a great program.’

I can honestly say that I use the information I get on a daily basis. I just recently finished a body transformation contest. I lost 16 inches, 13 of them from my thighs. I have a renewed sense of where I want to go in my weight loss quest…in my healthy life quest. I am committed to being and staying healthy for life.

Thanks to you & your peers for all you…you are helping to change the face of the obesity war.

Jayson … I realize that it must seem fruitless at times, but there are some of us listening! It took until a wake-up call from my doctor: I’m 43 and in danger of diabetes and other issues if I don’t shape up. I’m a former athlete and want to get back to that!

Thanks to the information you and others provide, I had the information I needed to get started when I was finally ready (I should’ve been ready 40 lbs ago, but that’s in the past now.) Since Jun 1st, I’ve changed many things. I eat tons of fruit, some protein, some dairy and as many veggies as I can eat before I’m tired of chewing for dinner! And I’ve lost 15 lbs.

With the knowledge I’ve gained from reading about healthy eating and how to make it work in today’s lifestyle, I have the tools I need to keep this going. I realize it is going to take a while and I am ready. I’ve definitely got things I need to work on (my exercise needs to be more consistent, I need to get more sleep, etc.) but I feel like I am on my way. In addition, my family has heard of my success and my mom is asking me “how to do it” so I am now starting to pass information on to others.

Please keep up the good info … we ARE listening!

    Hi,

yes I am using some of the tips on and off. Unfortunately, just as on and off does the chocolate craving hit me in the afternoons. But none the less, exactly your frequent mailings motivate me to get on the band wagon again and not give up entirely. Keep it up and keep us posted.
    Thanks
    Kornelia

The problem with your approach is that is so obvious that there must be a reason
why it hasn’t caught on as much as it ought to. Could it be that the food
producers talk the talk but they ain’t walkin’ the walk. In the meantime, we have
to educate ourselves about good nutritional habits and act on what we know in
spite of what the adverts tell us how beneficial the “diet foods” that sit on the
    supermarket shelves.

Better yet, we ought to buy fresh and cook fresh. Then we know for sure what
we are eating and what it does for us.

I’ve watched your programs, and they are very informative and entertaining. I’m starting to track my sleep patterns as that is something that I can definitely improve upon. I purchased your program, and to be honest– I haven’t had a chance to read it. What am I waiting for? I don’t really have a good answer.

    Dear Jason:

Keep up the good spirits! I do read your messages, as well as
Mike’s and have learned a lot about nutrition, have been chaging
my habits, slowly, and according to my lifestyle, context and
    culture (I am Mexican).

    So, thank you very much

Jayson, I have to agree with the previous responses….I listen and utilize what I learn from you, as well as other experts in the health and fitness industry. I have to say that I love your blog as well as the web TV show because I can learn things all the time, but admit that when I read/watch the information, I do not always post comments to let you know how useful the information is.

Since starting the carb rotation diet in October, I have lost more than 50 lbs and continue to lose each week by making permanent changes to my diet and exercise routine. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to making a healthier, better America!

By the way, a motto I’ve been living by since starting the carb rotation to keep me motivated and focused is “Excuses are just well planned lies”. I remember this each time I seem to think of an excuse for not eating healthy, or missing a workout, etc., and then realize that I’m just lying to myself if I make an excuse and that then motivates me to stick to my routine so I can reach my ultimate goals.

i love the information i get from you, and all the other experts giving me advice. i’ve learned so much over the past few years because of it and i truly feel stronger and healthier for it. i especially love all the killer workouts and healthy recipes, which i often cook for my family and they love it! thanks a bunch, u are making a difference.

  9. andrew says:

You provide some really great info. and it does help, but only if you apply it. I have already taken many of the steps you have talked about before receiving your emails and it has changed my lifestyle quite a bit. A lot is common sense but the mass media loves to distort that. So keep up the good work!

  10. Judy says:

What you give is very worthwhile. Have I made the changes I need to …not entirely. I do read and listen and gain in knowledge from you. I had lapband surgery in Feb. I have lost 36 lbs as of today. I am having a difficult time finding things I can eat without problems. I am also fatigued all the time. I have always lost weight slowly and I continue to do so. I know we all have times we feel what we are doing is perhaps not having the impact we want. I thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us.

  11. Tara Bhadbhade says:

Please send the weight loss tips. I am 79 and my weight is 66kgs.
I need a sensible weight loss program. I suffer from arthritis. So I cannot I cannot exercise rigorously.

  12. Jayson says:

Since I don’t know your medical history and the chance that you have restrictions on foods for medications, etc I can’t just send you a program. What I suggest is to download the free reports from the blog and take them to your doctor to make sure they are ok. The reports just contain basic nutritional guidelines that everyone should be following so you should be ok unless you are taking a medication that requires you to restrict a certain type of food.

  13. Candy says:

    Jayson,
I realize that we need to watch the fat intake. However, many of the fat free foods when I read the label are higher in carbs. I have found that the middle of the road, light or even the regular products may have a little higher fat content, but lower in carbs and higher in protein. So am I correct in thinking that it is better to have a little higher fat but fewer carbs and higher protein? I can tell you this, I have lost more weight on the low carb diets then the strickly low fat diets. I have taken medications for high cholesterol, and still do. But even though I have eaten more fat with the low carb diet my total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and Triglycerides are all better.

  14. Jayson says:

For some people who are particularly sensitive to carbs can actually do better with a higher fat diet. Ideally you should eat higher protein, moderate fat and low to moderate high fiber carbs or what some call non-starchy carbs such as vegetables, pintos, etc.
