As you get older most of know that certain parts of our body start to decline.

Recent studies have shown that B vitamins may slow brain atrophy, but only in the presence of this one specific nutrient.
It appears the B vitamins are only effective in slowing brain atrophy when in the presence of high levels of omega-3 fatty acids.

Here’s what they found:
When the B vitamins are in your body in the presence of high levels of Omega-3 fatty acids they become more readily available for your brain to use in order to reduce brain atrophy.
Even more important is that Krill oil in phospholipids are one of the few things that is able to cross the blood brain barrier, which may increase the chance of B-vitamins being utilized by your brain.
Researchers also found that homocysteine levels may also be reduced when the combination of omega-3 fatty acids and B vitamins are present.
To get these answers researchers gave 168 elderly participants a vitamin B supplement or a placebo for 2 years. Of those receiving the B-vitamins it was discovered that those who had higher levels of omega-3 fats in their body were shown to reduce the rate of brain atrophy by 40%.
Those who consume the B-vitamins, but had lower levels of omega-3 fats showed no beneficial improvement.
Here is what the researchers concluded:
“The beneficial effect of B vitamin treatment on brain atrophy was observed only in subjects with high plasma ω-3 fatty acids. It is also suggested that the beneficial effect of ω-3 fatty acids on brain atrophy may be confined to subjects with good B vitamin status.”
Give your brain the best chance of being sharp, alert and on point well into old age by consuming adequate amounts of vitamin B along with high levels of omega-3 fats such as Krill oil.
This may very well reduce chances of brain atrophy and a reduced risk of Dementia, Alzheimers and even Parkinsons by allowing your body and brain to more effectively utilize vitamin B.
