Diet chocolate cake.
Diet ice cream.
Diet fried chicken.
If this list of diet food sounds appealing to you, then you probably have some misconceptions about healthy eating.
If the items on the list sound crazy, then you probably know a thing or two about how to eat healthy.
Diet slurpees actually exist. They are a new product being introduced, and they’re marketed towards those who don’t want to give up their favorite snacks but would like to get a little closer to healthy diets.
The problem with having a diet option of a drink that offers no good nutrition beyond minimal hydration is that people can use it as an excuse for eating right. They might reason with themselves that if they are going to drink 3 slurpees a week anyway, they might as well be the diet version.
The real healthy eating choice in this scenario would be to replace most of the “treat” drinks each week with water or a green drink like the one from Prograde, and enjoy a real slurpee sparingly. This way, the intake of good nutrition goes up without a cold turkey cut-off of a favorite treat.
While a sugar free, reduced calorie variation of a popular drink might be a better version of that drink, it’s not really a good alternative. For truly healthy weight loss, the best foods and the best exercise methods must be used – not the best versions of the bad things.
