Inconvenient Fad Diets

If you are a busy person … aren’t we all? … and trying to really take the concepts of healthy diets to heart, there is one big thing you need to be aware of.  Convenience foods.  These are the foods that come packaged with some of the preparation steps already done for you, and they are not healthy eating shortcuts like you might want to believe.

Some convenience foods do contain wholesome ingredients.  After all, a bag of frozen seasoned vegetables contains a staple diet food, right?  Of course vegetables need to be in your diet, but their good nutrition can be overshadowed by all the ingredients and artificial additives that are thrown in.

Preservatives and other additives don’t really have a place in healthy meals.  (more…)

You might be at risk of developing a life-altering condition and you have no idea because your doctor doesn’t mention it.  It’s not the latest health catch-phrase that your friends bring up.  Nobody talks about it, but it is serious.

And it could affect you if you’re not eating right.

The condition is called metabolic syndrome.  People who have it are at a high risk of developing cardiovascular disease.  If your heart is unhealthy, many catastrophic things can happen in your body.

Since nobody talks about metabolic syndrome, how can you know if you have it?  It might seem logical that if you’re eating diet food and experiencing healthy weight loss, you don’t have to worry about this condition.  But that is not the case.  (more…)

Hoodia Ads Cause Confusion About Quick Weight Loss

Some quick weight loss advertisements claim that P57 is the only active ingredient and it is in the newest Hoodia product.  This may make you think that all other Hoodia supplements are innately ineffective.

P57 was patented in 1996 and research is still ongoing to determine the most effective way to use it.  Hoodia products do not contain P57.  And to make it worse, no Hoodia supplement has been shown to be effective in helping with quick weight loss.
